This series always had gorgeous illustrations. Love it still.

I always loved how each illustration had hidden clues about the next book, like the Madame Lulu flyer in the top illustration (illustration is at the end of 8th book, Madame Lulu is in the 9th), or the mushrooms in the bottom right (illustration from 10th book, killer fungus is introduced in the 11th)
